Aspen Community Foundation Awarded $9,000 to Catholic Charities.
On Friday, February 20, 2009, Aspen Community Foundation, through the SLM Fund, awarded $9,000 to Catholic Charities.
Aspen Community Foundation’s mission to build philanthropy and support non-profits was realized with an unexpected and generous gift to Catholic Charities.
When Sonja Linman in the Glenwood Office of the Foundation became aware of the surge of rental assistance applications Catholic Charities received in the month of January, she began working to find a solution. The SLM Fund of Aspen Community Foundation provided that solution. The grant will enable Catholic Charities to provide rental assistance to approximately 25 families and individuals as they negotiate these tough economic times.
This wonderful gift of generous support was provided in addition to a grant awarded in January by Aspen Community Foundation.
Catholic Charities renewed partnership with Aspen Community Foundation in 2009 is proving to be immeasurable support in emergency assistance for the residents of the Roaring Fork Valley. “We are so grateful for the overwhelming support Aspen Community Foundation has given us” states Marian McDonough, Regional Director for Catholic Charities. “The requests for assistance have increased in the past several months and ACF is helping us meet the needs of the poor.”
Catholic Charities helps those who are poor and most in need regardless of who they are or their beliefs.
