“I am delighted and honored to announce that Columbine Home Health, Inc. has been awarded a grant of $25,000 by Aspen Community Foundation,” CEO Kim Oliver announced today. According to Kim Oliver the grant will be used to provide essential health care services that enhance the quality of life for seniors and disabled adults in the community from Aspen to Parachute, Colorado.
Our mission is to promote a dignified, independent lifestyle within our community through the provision of skilled health care services. These services include: Skilled Home Health Care, Senior Wellness Clinics, Blood Pressure Clinics, Outpatient Therapy Services, Breast Cancer Screening and Education and Private Duty Home Care.
“Our organization has been named to the 2008 Homecare Elite, a compilation of the most successful Medicare-Certified Home Health providers in the United States. This annual review identifies the top 25% of agencies, ranked by analysis of performance measures in quality outcomes, quality improvement and financial performance.
The grant from Aspen Community Foundation will give us additional resources to provide care to those who would otherwise be unable to pay for care at home. Over the past 9 years, Columbine Home Health, Inc. has been granted $240,525 from Aspen Community Foundation’s unrestricted and field of interest funds and $30,375 from Donor Advised Funds. The Senior Fund of Aspen Community Foundation has granted $29,900. We recognize the importance of community support through Donor Advised Funds and the Senior’s Fund.
Columbine Home Health’s Private Duty Home Care program enables the senior and disabled adult population to live independently in their own homes and out of nursing homes for as long as possible. Professional staff assists seniors and disabled persons through paying bills, bathing, shopping for groceries, preparing meals, light housekeeping, doing laundry as well as assistance with exercise programs and companionship. The staff provides companionship to prevent social isolation and depression. Professional staff is also able to determine when a higher level of care is required or an unsafe home situation exists. The difference in what clients are able to pay and the cost comes from grants, fundraisers and charitable donations.
Aspen Community Foundation has been working since 1980 to improve the quality of life in our communities. Based in Aspen and Glenwood Springs, the Community Foundation serves the greater Roaring Fork and Colorado River valleys and directs a collection of funds created by individuals, families, nonprofits, businesses, and the Community Foundation itself for charitable purposes. Each year, the Community Foundation strives to positively impact the quality of life in our communities by awarding millions of dollars in grants to nonprofit from these funds. The Community foundation also serves as a civic leader, convener, and sponsor of special initiatives designed to address community issues. For more information, visit
