Aspen Community Foundation hosted a 2006 Winter Discussion Series, Community Assets, to share compelling stories and create a forum for discussion around local nonprofits. By opening the lines of communication among the valley’s diverse populations, Aspen Community Foundation aspires to increase understanding, compassion and support for local challenges and needs.
Participating nonprofit programs included: Pre-Collegiate Program, RE-1 School District, Aspen School District and School Board, Roaring Fork Family Resource Centers, LIFT-UP/Garfield County, The Aspen Institute, Students Need Active Parents (SNAP), COMPASS: Carbondale Community School, and the Cancer Caring House at Shaw Regional Cancer Center, Vail Valley Medical Center.
