Holly and Richard Glasier
Intent on retiring in Colorado, Richard and Holly Glasier decided on Carbondale, purchased land at River Valley Ranch seven years ago, and built their home there five years ago. Pursuing Richards career in both the gaming and cruise line industries, they have lived in Phoenix, Miami, and most recently St. Louis, and are thrilled to be back West, closer to their three children. With a long history of contributing to the United Way, the Glasiers first became interested in Aspen Community Foundation through local media sources and opened up their Donor Advised Fund at the end of 2005. Were still learning and we want to become involved with the right things, Holly says, referring to the Community Foundations thorough research of local nonprofits fiscal and managerial practices. As Holly has been a registered nurse for thirty years and Richard a board director for a major hospital, the Glasiers hope to be more engaged with the Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs. Since the recent loss of our granddaughter at birth, we are most concerned with maternal/child issues, early childhood education, and womens wellness. We worked hard our whole lives, but at the same time there are a lot of good people and good parents who have worked hard their whole lives, and because of a differing set of circumstances, still struggle to make ends meet. Having just returned from a two month vacation around Arizona and California in their RV, the Glasiers greatly appreciate their quality of life and in turn are committed to supporting their new community.
